Yoop Yooply, or just Yoop, is a green alien who appears in i-Ready Reading and Math lessons alongside Plory from level AA to Level C (Emerging K- grade 3). He only appears in phonics lessons in Level C (grade 3). Yoop is also a Buddy.

Appearance[]

Yoop's body is green. He has only two fingers and has one thin, floating eyebrow with an antenna. He also has orange eyelids under his one eye, and has orange freckles at the side of his cheeks. These orange spots are his ears. He has one tooth inside his mouth, however, Yoop's teeth seem to change from time to time. Sometimes, he is seen having a full set of teeth. On other occasions, Yoop is seen having teeth similar to Plory's teeth. Yoop is 3’6”, making him less than half of Plory’s height.

Personality and Relationships[]

Personality[]

Yoop is a curious alien who is often times silly, humorous, and clumsy. Yoop made a mess because of his clumsiness and hid it from Plory by flicking a switch. Confused at first, Plory thought he cleaned up, so she was happy. He is a disorganized and loves making jokes. Yoop sometimes does not listen, so Plory has to correct him at times. Yoop usually tells the truth, but he also lies. On one hand, Yoop broke a multicolored vase, but Plory softened up when Yoop was honest, which shows that Plory values honesty. On the other hand, he almost fed Plory his so-called "mint gum," when it was actually fire.

Plory finds Yoop a little annoying at times. Yoop is explorative, but Plory likes to be careful. For example, Major Peril, who is Plory and Yoop’s boss, once sent a machine to help them add and subtract multi-digit numbers. Plory said Yoop could try breaking a hundred into ten tens. Misinterpreting Plory's command, he tried to literally break the hundred with a hammer so the goo would splash. Another time, Yoop wanted to experiment with test tubes. He used Plory as a test subject, transforming her into different things or changing her appearance.

Relationships[]

  1. Yoop's relationship with Plory: Plory is Yoop’s friend. He is curious and silly, and his curiosity allows him to think smarter than Plory at times. Yoop can be funny sometimes, having a better sense of humor than Plory. Even though they are best friends, they disagree on many things. For example, Plory and Yoop once had a debate about whether pie or cupcake was better. Yoop sometimes uses Plory as an answer to his problems and questions. He tends to forget things sometimes, or he misunderstands.
  2. Yoop's relationship with Snargg: He also likes doing strange things. Yoop looks at Snargg to be hilarious due to his absurd behavior. When Snargg wanted to lick the goo from the place value machines, Yoop also joined him, leaving Plory disgusted.
  3. Yoop's relationship with the Goopers: Yoop invented the Goopers. He also laughed evilly when Plory asked Yoop, "What are these tiny flying creatures?" Overall, Yoop likes the Goopers.

Inventions[]

Yoop, along with Plory, has created several neat inventions together. Their first invention is called the "Eggatron.” This machine is used to make Plory and Yoop's breakfast. This machine works by placing an adult hen in the control column of the Eggatron. When this hen lays eggs, the eggs are then dispensed with the albumen and yolk of the egg, making raw breakfast for Plory and Yoop. The second invention is called the "Group-O-Matic.” This machine is used to speed up the counting progress. This machine works by inserting a Gooper, or alternatively a ball, into a dispensing tube. If the sum is less or exactly 10, the Goopers go in the left column. If the goopers have a sum of more than 10, both columns are used. The third invention is called the "Gold-A-Tron 4000.” This machine is pretty self-explanatory. It takes any object and when you zap it with the machine, it turns into gold. Plory and Yoop have also made a second version of this machine but this time, instead of turning an object into gold, it turns it into pizza! They have dubbed this invention the "Pizza-A-Tron 4000." The next invention is called the “Cookie-Tron.” The left button is used to insert cookies in a tray, and the orange button is used to take away cookies from it. Plory and Yoop’s sixth invention is called the “X-Ray-A-Tron.” This machine is used to view what goes in Plory, Yoop, or Snargg’s brains. One time, Plory and Yoop used the invention to check Snargg’s stomach. This makes it their 6th and final invention. (The pictures of these inventions are included in the gallery below.)
